3 months of good vibes!

Its not so long ago when i was flooding multiply and other local forums about ALON. If i remember it correctly, i spent almost 2 weeks just sending out invites to join this little forum that i made. Fast forward 3 months, here we are with 100 registered members and counting.

When i first thought of making this forum, i was a bit wary. Localism, as much as we would like to deny and brush it off aside is a mainstay in this sport of ours. To try and quell the idea of it was one of the main reasons why i made ALON. But on the flip side, i also knew that what i intended to kill could also become the death of my little project. Luckily for me, the first people to join the bandwagon also shared the same vision as me. And that vision is to unite the local skimboarding community. And when i say local, im not talking about crews or spots but the Philippines as a whole. A whole community moving as one and sharing the same passion for a sport. Because at the end of the day, flatland or wave, grom or pro, rich or poor, wherever you may live in this archipelago of ours, were all skimboarders.

Now that the forum is steadily growing, i ask all of you to keep in mind why we all stare for hours at whats written within these threads. Were all here because we love the sport. Were all here because we want to meet and see what other skimboarders around the country are doing. And hopefully like me, you also want to see the community grow and united in pushing the sport forward in a positive direction.

ALON was created for the purpose of community and the camaraderie that comes along with it. So leave the ego and all that localism BS where it should be ( in the trash ).


Before i end this, id like to thank those who supported ALON right the very start. ( you guys know who you are, salamat mga adik! ) And for the new forum members, welcome and keep the good vibes coming!

wala kong mahanap na discussion kung sino sino na nagkita kita at nagkaroon ng mukha dito sa alon.

anyway, what i wanted to say is...

ALON is HOME.

(let's all do this together: we have to think everyday at least one thought that all the skimboarders in p.i will be united. and that skimboarding will be Philippines' major thing --- ang laki ng coastlines natin no! --- if we do this, all of us here, we might be able to send out those energies to the cosmos and make it happen, y'know hehehehehehehehe
