Re: Cagbalete Survivor Series!
Hope everything is ok... Mourning the loss of any electronics and boards. BUt glad you guys are ok.
INALON ang ALON
hey guys.. i guess i'm the first one home from cagbalete.. i just wanted to let u all know that everyone's ok.. super traumatic ng experience na 'to but i'll let the survivors make kwento what happened na lang.. pauwi na yung cavite crew.. express way na daw sila.. dami pa nakuha na gamit yung mga locals.. mga bag nila,i dont know what the latest update is on how they're going to get them or if they already got them.. with all that was lost, from the gadgets to the food to their clothes and other belongings,we're all just super glad that everyone's safe.. we survived! with saved canned goods, extra salty salted eggs, gabi at marami pang iba,at syempre mga dala ng sunday group at yung bigay pa nung owener ng resort na cooked rice and best of all we all had each other..
check out the pictures (i'll post the link)
and there are more from vincent.. sana nakauwi kayong lahat safely.. and sa mga nag puntang lahar beach i hope u guys had a great time.. oh and to those trying to contact sina jami, they all lost their fones so yun..

Re: Cagbalete Survivor Series!
hey guys Im back, ok na naman ang lahat, except for the bad weather sa gitna ng dagat na syang ngpataob dun sa cnasakyan nila brien..sabi nga ng mga locals, umabot daw hangang manila ung ngyari samin..but thank God we're safe and we survive..and most of all, we still manage to enjoy kahit na ganun ang ngyari..Di naman talaga maiiwasan yung mga ngyari and we have no choice but to accept and learned something from experience..
Maganda yung place, it was worth it, kapag gabi at low tide, halos 1 hectare ang pwede mo lakaran..
to the rest of the crew salamat sa pagpunta at ingat kau sa pag-uwi.

ayun sa blog ng friend ni ms.ChaSantos na nakakita ng insidente...
Last weekend, Aryan, Tiff, Hana and I went to Cagbalete Island to explore the isle’s beauty. It was a good weather from Manila to Lucena, ‘til we rode the mini-bus going to Mauban. The rain started to pour 8-ish in the morning, at first there were only drizzles, we’re not bothered until the locals at the Pantalan told us that the passenger boat will not leave Cagbalete because of the bad weather. We started to think of other plans – Plan A: Will wait for the boat until 2pm; Plan B: Check out other resorts in Mauban; Plan C: Go north. Capones; and Plan D: Watch Twilight in SM Lucena (we knew this last plan is a desperate move.. hehe).
We waited for hours in Pantalan, then as we talk about other options, Mang Glen (Glenda sa gabi), who is sitting nearby and eavesdropping, heard “Pansacola” and informed us that the private boat of Pansacola resort was there in Pantalan. We called Sir Rommel, our host and owner of Pensacola Resort, and told him that we’re stranded in Pantalan because no passenger boat is going to sail given the bad weather. He advised us to go in their house and look for Mam Fe (his wife), four souls rode the trike again and when we reached Pansacola’s house, Mam Fe welcomed us and told us that we can join them and their other guests as they will go to Cagbalete. Hope sparked in our eyes. We will Cagbalete.
Minutes before riding the boat, Tiff and Hana were having qualms because we saw how big the waves are and it was REALLY breezy, but Aryan and I were both optimistic about pushing the plan of going to Cagbalete. Passengers all aboard, then we sailed. Kapitan said that it will only take 1.5hours and we will be in Cagbalete. The first few waves were tolerable, you can still hear the other passengers shout “Wooo!” when a big wave hits our banca, but then the waves were getting bigger and bigger and I can feel them crashing. There were times that the “katig” seemed to be having a hard time keeping the boat balanced. I started to get a bit nervy. I was trembling and started to pray – I was VERY scared.
The most frightening part of it was when we saw a banca overturned, with the passengers/travellers waving at us calling for help. We can tell from these people’s eyes that they were really terrified and fearful. Our kapitan moved closer to the banca and threw a thick cord and asked the passengers to transfer to our boat. Four passengers transferred but then the waves are getting bigger and the sea more furious, the driver of the other banca tied a knot to the other end of the boat and told our Kapitan to just pull the overturned boat (note that there are still 5+ passengers atop the boat) to Cagbalete.
It was going smoothly at first, but we are moving very slowly. We can hear the owner of the bigger boat shouting “Iwanan nio na muna sila, balikan na lang natin! Lahat tayo mamatay dito kung hihilain yan hanggang Cagbalete!” while other passengers are saying “Tanggalin nio na yung tali! Balikan na lang sila! Tataob tayong lahat nito!”. Fear reined my mind. God please help those people, and help us reach our destination safely, and alive.
Hardly any big waves, and heavy downpour, we arrived Cagbalete Island. Thank God. We’re alive. As I looked on the horizon, I promised myself that I will not challenge the sea anymore.

Ganitong ganito nga yung eksena na ngyayari samin, even before we rode a bus to lucena.. there we're already signs na parang ayaw kami patuluyin..Una na dun ung bus na dapat sana sasakyan namin, bumaba lang kami kasi puno na..sa sunod na bus kami sumakay, and then before reaching Lucena grand terminal, we saw the same bus na muntik na namin sakyan na bumanga sa isang tindahan..2nd sign ay yung umulan sa lucena, we just ignore it hoping for a fine weather when we reach mauban..3rd sign ay ung warning ng mga locals na malalaki nga daw ung ALON...pero kahit ganun ang ngyari, ok lang din..masaya pa rin yung weekend nmin, and worth it naman yung place and very accomodating yung may-ari ng Pansacola..
Salamat pala sa accomodation ng Pansacola, ang bait nila kasi pgbabang pgbaba pa lang nminng banka, they offer us food which we really needed kasi dpa nglulunch ung iba namin kasasma..and also they give us big discount..salamat po
