Factory teams

Just wanna get your opinion on this one.

Imagine every local skimboard manufacturer here sa pinas may sariling factory team.

Then, may competition that specifically targets factory teams only. Meaning, brands will go head to head. For example, choiboards, shrooms, elijah, driftwood, slicksurf, VAR, lahat yan may mga riders competing against each other. The idea is to cement the concept of local brands sa mga interested na pumasok sa sport natin.

Just like what Habagat did to the local mountaineering scene. Kung bago ka sa mountaineering, you dont go looking for a North Face gear, check mo muna ang habagat.

I thought of this cuz may pumasok sa ulo ko. Marami tayong magaling na riders, but sila lng ang kilala at hindi ang mga local boards na ginagamit nila. This way, may name recall din ang mga local brands. Kun factory rider ka, di lng "ikaw" ang makikilala but also the company that you ride for.

very interesting idea man! just imagine this in the future magkakaroon ng invitational event strictly bawal ang non local brands and ang host si papa strange hehe just kidding.. pero seryoso sa tingin ko gustong gusto to mangyari ng mga board shaper na ma-meet nila yung ibang manufacturers kasi yun na ang pagkakataon para magpalitan ng knowledge and skills sa pag gawa ng board

yup! im serious about this Phat. If the local manufacturers are willing, ill find a way to set this competition up.

If you know any big local board shapers in your area, ask them about the idea. Friendly competition lng. And im pretty sure that the local government would be willing to help them out with the fees and all. Cuz in the long run, the more popular their local brand becomes, it will help them in pushing their place for local and even international tourists.

i know that by now you are very familiar with our local shapers. Since skimboarding is still in its infancy here in the philippines, i think we also need to look out for our local brands. Cuz without them, skimboarding wont be this "grass roots" as it is right now.

all i ask from you guys is to ask any established manufacturers that you know of and ask them about it.

good idea.. i think un ang nangyayari sa driftwood ngayon.. nakikilala ang mga riders at the same time unti unting nakilala ang driftwood boards, kasi parating nananalo ung riders nila..

sino may kontaks ng driftwood? kami ni brie may kakilala sa elijah... try namin makontak.

yeah man!...good idea...this will boost the skimboard industries...hopefully magkatulungan ang board manufucturer and team riders.... US style ika nga... oo nga sino mag ssponsor sa amin? woosa...tara contakin naten ang ALOHA ..hahaha tell them we ride their boards...

magandang idea to, para ma-promote ung local skimboards dito sa pinas and mas lalong pgbutihan ng mga local manufaturers ng skimboard ang pggawa ng board kc may kakompetensya na cla.
